Policy Detail
Elevare™ is committed to ensuring a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment that promotes the respectful and fair treatment of all students, employees, and visitors. Our community—comprising students, faculty, staff, and guests—is entitled to an educational and working atmosphere free from discrimination and harassment in every setting, whether on campus, online, or during any Institute-hosted activities. This policy clearly defines expected behavior and prohibited activities, outlining both our commitment to a respectful academic community and the processes for reporting and resolving any violations, in alignment with The Private Training Institutions Regulatory Unit (PTIRU) within the System Integrity Branch (SIB) of the Ministry of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills guidelines.
We affirm our commitment to providing an environment free from discrimination, harassment, and disrespect. Every student, staff member, and visitor is entitled to be treated with fairness, dignity, and courtesy in every interaction. This policy applies to all academic, extracurricular, and online environments associated with Elevare™ Career Institute.
- Guidelines for Respectful and Fair Treatment
- Interact with respect and consideration.
- Communicate courteously and constructively, thereby enhancing a positive educational atmosphere.
- Model respectful behaviors and intervene appropriately if witnesses observe incidents of discrimination or harassment.
- Prohibited Activities
- Bullying: Repeated, intentional behavior aimed at intimidating or harming another individual.
- Harassment: Any unwelcome behavior (verbal, physical, psychological, emotional, or sexual) that degrades or humiliates an individual.
- Discrimination: Unjust or prejudicial treatment based on race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, disability, or any other characteristic.
- Other Unacceptable Behaviors: Any actions that compromise the dignity, comfort, or rights of any community member.
- Reporting and Resolution Procedures
- Victim/Survivor Safety: Immediately ensure that the victim or survivor receives any necessary medical attention or security measures. Campus staff will arrange discreet support to guarantee the individual's safety.
- Optional Informal Disclosure: The affected individual may choose to disclose the incident to the Executive Director or Senior Educational Administrator (SEA) without filing a formal report. This disclosure will be taken seriously, and management will work proactively to prevent recurrence, even if a formal process is not initiated.
- Initiation of a Formal Report: To commence a formal investigation, the victim or any Institute community member acting on their behalf must submit a detailed written report to the Executive Director/SEA. The report should include all pertinent information and evidence regarding the incident.
- Notification and Response of the Accused: The individual against whom allegations are made will be discreetly informed of the report, while maintaining the confidentiality of the complainant’s identity. The accused will be given 24 hours to submit a written explanation regarding the incident.
- Investigation and Remedial Action: The Executive Director/SEA will review all submitted evidence and conduct a fair investigation in line with regulatory guidelines. If the allegations are substantiated, disciplinary actions—ranging from a formal written apology to expulsion from work or study—may be imposed.
- External Reporting When Necessary: If the alleged perpetrator is a visitor or if external legal intervention is required, and with the complainant’s agreement, the incident details may be forwarded to local law enforcement along with a copy of the complaint.
- Confidentiality and Support: All personal information related to the incident, including the complainant’s identity, will be kept confidential in accordance with the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, unless disclosure is mandated by law. The victim/survivor will also be offered counseling and any other support necessary to address the physical or mental impact of the incident.
- Enforcement and Accountability: Failure to comply with this policy may result in disciplinary action consistent with PTIRU standards and institutional regulations. Elevare™ Career Institute reserves the right to modify the policy to reflect evolving best practices and regulatory requirements. All changes will be communicated through official channels.
